Cuticle Layer of a Plant



The top layer of this leaf is the cuticle layer. This is the protective layer that is very thin and covers the epidermis.

Xylem



In the roots of this plant is xylem. Xylem is a compound tissue that helps provide support and carries water and nutrients upward to the other parts of the plant. (P.S. I didn't just uproot this plant to take a picture of it, my grandma an I are reorganizing her garden. lol)

Ectotherm



This alligator is an ectotherm, which is a cold-blooded animal.

Endotherm



Ava is an endotherm, which is a warm-blooded animal.

Conifer Leaf



This pine tree is a conifer tree and therefore has conifer leaves. These leaves are arranged spirally and have a thin needle like appearance.

Exoskeleton



These Madagascar roaches have exoskeletons. An exoskeleton is a protective or supporting structure covering the outside of the body of an animal.

Thorn



A thorn is a sharp pointed branch, spine, or prickle on a plant.
