This leaf is an example of a deciduous leaf because this plant sheds its leaves annually.

Parasite

This misquito is an example of a parasite because it takes the blood from my body and gives nothing in return except for, possibly, diseases. It also leaves an itchy bite mark.

Meristem

The top of this plant is an example of a meristem. It is actively dividing existing cells to form new tissue of the plant.

Ectotherm

The tiny frog in this picture is an example of an ectotherm. Ectotherms have to depend on external sources of body heat.

Protein-Fibrous

The hair in this picture is a subdivision of the two main classes of proteins. The fibrous protein, is in the Scleroprotein class and has hair as an example.

Fruit- dry with seed

This pistashio is an example of a dry seed indehiscent fruit. Indehiscent fruits are nuts, in which the ovary walls become very hard at maturatity and stay fused to the ovary wall.

Rhizome

Rhizomes are continuously growing horizontal underground stem that puts out lateral roots. Since this onion is the underground root of an organism that makes it a rhizome.
